Become an early UrusFamily tester
Testers install UrusFamily from the Google Play closed-test link, use it in their own home, and keep it installed for 14 days. It is free, Android first, and nobody is given assignments. Your email is used for the Play invite only, kept at most 180 days, and you can leave whenever you want.
One application per email. We write to you when the test opens.
What does a tester actually do?
Three things, all of them inside your own home.
Install from the Play link
We email you the closed-test link. Open it, choose to join, then install the app the usual way.
Use it normally for 14 days
Set chores, tick them off, pay the allowance. No test script and no daily quota.
Tell us what is broken
The bug button sits in Settings. One sentence is enough, and we read every one.
Why does Google need 14 days?
A Google Play rule, not ours.
Google Play requires at least 12 testers to opt in to a closed test and stay opted in for 14 continuous days before an app can be opened to the public. Google does that counting, not us, and it stops if the number of testers drops below 12.
What that means for you: only join if you can leave the app installed for two full weeks. Deleting it on day three inconveniences nobody, but our count goes back to the start.

What happens to my email?
One purpose, and one deletion date.
- Your email goes on the Google Play tester list, because Play invites testers by email and by nothing else.
- We use it to send the test link and to contact you about the test only.
- It is never sold, never shared with anyone else, and never added to a marketing list.
- Applications are deleted automatically after 180 days. When the closed test ends, the emails on the Play tester list are deleted too.
- We do not ask for a phone number, a home address or a child's name. The number of children is a range only.
- To leave, or to have your email deleted sooner, email hello@urusfamily.com.

Questions before you apply
Is there any payment or reward?
No payment and no reward. The app is free for everyone during the launch period, so testers pay nothing and receive nothing beyond the app itself.
What device do I need?
An Android phone with a Google account. The iOS version is not ready, so if you use an iPhone we keep your email and contact you when the iOS test opens.
Do I have to report something every day?
No. Write only when something is broken or confusing. One sentence through the bug button in Settings is enough.
Is my family data safe during the test?
The same rules as the full version. Children have no account, there are no ads, chore proof photos are deleted once checked, and family notes are encrypted on the phone. This is your real family data, so use it normally.
How do I leave the test?
Open the closed-test link and choose to leave, or email hello@urusfamily.com and we remove you and delete your email. No reason needed.
When does the test start?
Once enough families have signed up. We email the link to every applicant on the same day, so everybody starts together.
